Every week we schedule over 30 hours of activities and outings in the Richmond area to help our senior residents remain inspired to learn and grow.

These activities are designed to encourage the seniors to interact with one another and to help promote a sense of community. Our activity programs evolve and grow with the seniors they serve, however we maintain at all times a variety of options for our residents to exercise physically, mentally, and spiritually.

Physical fitness is an important factor at any stage in life, and perhaps even more so through our senior years.

Ginter Hall South offers age-appropriate physical fitness courses for senior residents, including group stretching sessions, senior yoga, and chair exercises. We host mall walking groups and shopping trips at our neighboring Chesterfield Towne Center Mall, as well as luncheons at local restaurants, and visits to exhibitions at Richmond’s Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. We also schedule community youth programs, choral performances, and school service groups from the Richmond metro area to visit and work with our resident community.

For those seniors who seek to improve their technology skills, we offer a computer center and associates or volunteers to provide assistance.

We also regularly offer our residents pet therapy, musical and dramatic performances, organized games, and art classes.  Book clubs, current event discussion groups, and movie nights are regular components of our activity calendar as well. Additionally, our version of radio listening, through podcast discussion groups, has become a resident favorite for staying up to date with current events.
